چکیده

This paper describes heuristic algorithms for scheduling preemptive, imprecise, composite tasks with input error and end-to-end timing constraints. Each composite task consists of a chain of component tasks, where each component task is made up of a mandatory part and an optional part. Whenever a component task uses imprecise input, the mandatory and optional parts of the component task may be extended in order to compensate for input error. We use a two-level scheduler. At the high level, the scheduler schedules the composite tasks preemptively on one processor, according to an existing algorithm for scheduling simple imprecise tasks. The result is the total amount of time budgeted to each composite task in order for all composite tasks to meet their end-to-end deadlines. The low-level scheduler then distributes the time budgeted for each composite task across its component tasks so as to minimize the output error of each composite task.

Algorithms for Scheduling Real - Time Taskswith Input Error and End - to - End DeadlinesW

This paper describes algorithms for scheduling preemptive, imprecise, composite tasks in real time. Each composite task consists of a chain of component tasks, and each component task is made up of a mandatory part and an optional part. Whenever a component task uses imprecise input, the processing times of its mandatory and optional parts may become larger. The composite tasks are scheduled by...

A fuzzy mixed-integer goal programming model for a parallel machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup times and release dates

This paper presents a new mixed-integer goal programming (MIGP) model for a parallel machine scheduling problem with sequence-dependent setup times and release dates. Two objectives are considered in the model to minimize the total weighted flow time and the total weighted tardiness simultaneously. Due to the com-plexity of the above model and uncertainty involved in real-world scheduling probl...

Concept Revision of Age, Motivation, and Error Correction in Second Language Learning

The current review article investigates some variables contributing to English language teaching and learning. Three factors of age, motivation and error correction have been of importance in English language curricula in language centres. Some studies have been conducted to investigate various effects of these three components on English language acquisition, those studies, however, may lack d...

Spatial Link Scheduling for SCDMA Multihop Cellular Networks: A Cross Layer Framework

Probability of error based Spatial Code Division Multiple Access scheduling algorithm is presented in this paper to systematically reuse the orthogonal CDMA codes in a given cell for Multihop Cellular Network. We assign and reuse the CDMA codes to peer-to-peer links such that the probability of error in all scheduled links are below certain threshold. The proposed scheduling algorithm PoE-LinkS...
